what good am i doing?
i started asking myself this question after i read some insights from paul. he was standing trial and defending himself by stating the message he had been preaching during his travels, and this is what he said he had been preaching, "that all must repent of their sins and turn to God-- and prove they have changed by the good things they do" (acts 26:19-20).
paul is saying that we PROVE we have repented and turned to God when we do GOOD THINGS. it's proof that God has changed us. that we are different because we turned to Him.
so i ask myself... is the good that i'm doing proving God's influence on my life? am i acting changed? am i acting saved?
the way we act is proof of what is in our hearts (matthew 12:34). is the "good" we are doing proof of the change and salvation God has given us?
for me, sometimes "yes" and sometimes "no"... i want to be more consistent. i want to live changed. and i'm ready to prove it. how about you?

Great thoughts Chris! Yes I am ready. I am always finding new stuff that God wants me to change and then share about. I most definitely can not do any changing on my own. I think we need to do more of the sharing of how God is molding us, we just need to be humble, shut up our pride and do it. We the Church need to look messed up like the world, except that we know we need saving and changed and should be shouting about it. The only difference between us and the world is our acknowledgment of our need for a Savior! I need HIM daily!
amen, jamie!
